James Foley to Receive 2014 Oxi Day Award

James Foley, the American photojournalist beheaded by ISIL in August of this year, will posthumously receive the 2014 Oxi Day Award at the organization’s fourth annual Washington Oxi Day Foundation Gala tonight. Foley was nominated by President Bill Clinton, who is expected to introduce Foley as the award recipient in a video. Oxi Day writes that Foley was selected “for his extraordinary courage in the defense of freedom and democracy.”

In advance of formally receiving the award this evening, Foley’s parents Diane and John Foley, who will accept the award on his behalf, sat down with FOX5’s Steve Chenevey to discuss their son’s career, his legacy, and their fight to bring him home.
