Ifill On Diversity

PBS’s Gwen Ifill is in the latest Vogue and has this to say:

“When I covered HUD at the Washington Post, I was the only person on that beat who had ever lived in public housing,” Ifill tells the writer. “My colleagues had all these impressions about who these people were, that they were all welfare queens. That’s what I mean when I talk about the need for diversity in newsrooms. It’s about diversity in points of view and backgrounds.”
