Hillary Clinton Looks for 'New Relationship with the Press'
"A new grandchild. A new hairstyle. A new email account. A new relationship with the press."
Looking to turn the page on what, at best, has been a choppy month with the media, former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, told journalists on Monday that she is “all about new beginnings.”
“My relationship with the press has been, at times, shall we say, complicated,” she said at an awards ceremony honoring former New York Times correspondent, Robin Toner, in Washington, DC.
“A new grandchild. A new hairstyle. A new email account. A new relationship with the press,” said Clinton. “No more secrecy, no more zone of privacy … After all what good did that do for me?”
In what is expected to be her last scheduled public appearance before she announces her presidential bid, Clinton conveyed her concern that political discourse too often resides in an “evidence-free zone,” and that “we rely even more on reporters to try to get us out of the echo chambers we all inhabit.” She
