Haley Sweetland Edwards is One of Longform.orgs Best of 2013

An article by Washington Monthly‘s Haley Sweetland Edwards has been named one of Longform.org’s best political pieces of 2013. Edwards wrote a lengthy piece for the July/August edition of the magazine detailing the inner workings of a shadowy cabal of doctors that sets reimbursement rates for medical procedures. If it sounds arcane, Edwards’ article about the Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (or RUC for short) is actually a fascinating look at what is wrong with our health care system today.
