MSNBC VP (and A-Team Washingtonian player) Tammy Haddad is leaving MSNBC and starting her own production company, called “Haddad Media.” The venture already has two customers: National Journal and Newsweek.
Newsweek is launching a weekly political television show on its Website and Haddad will be an executive producer for the program.
Haddad Media will also do similar work for the National Journal Group.

In a statement, Jon Meacham, executive editor of Newsweek, a unit of the Washington Post Company, described Web video as “one of the great new storytelling tools of the time” and Ms. Haddad’s charge as devising “a fresh way of reaching more readers with our signature coverage of politics.”

National Journal Group, Washington’s leading publisher of political and policy news and analysis, announced today that it has hired Tammy Haddad as a consultant for upcoming political events and coverage. Haddad, the long-time Executive Producer of MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” today launched a new company, Haddad Media, and will aim to work with established and emerging companies to develop innovative on-air, online, and event programming for political and entertainment media.
In her consulting role, Haddad will use her experience and understanding of politics to amplify National Journal Group’s coverage and analysis of the 2008 election. Specifically, Haddad will work to optimize National Journal’s existing strategic partnerships, and will consult on the creation and content of National Journal Group events focusing on the 2008 contest, including activities at next year’s political conventions.
