Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award

"They have increased our understanding of the world and our role in it."

PBS NewsHour hosts Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff received the Pat Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award in a ceremony at the Women’s Media Center in New York on Thursday. Pat Mitchell, WMC’s founding co-chair, was on hand to present the award. Like Ifill and Woodruff, Mitchell too was once part of the public television family, having previously served as president of PBS.

“Through their choices of the stories that they report, and the way that they have led and the networks they have worked for, to be a more inclusive place, they have increased our understanding of the world and our role in it,” said Mitchell of the two honorees.
