Following President Barack Obama’s statement on the beheading of American photojournalist James Foley by ISIS, FOX News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren took to her website Gretawire to call out the president for his attire, which did not include a tie, during his live remarks.
“And by the way, I am all for casual clothes — but he IS the President of the United States and he IS talking about a beheading of an American, not the annual Easter egg roll,” writes Van Susteren. “Put on a tie. All eyes are on the President and he needs to convey the right message on all levels.”
Obama, who’s been semi-vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard since August 9, also received flack on Twitter for not wearing a tie during a Monday press conference on current events in Iraq and Ferguson, Mo.
In Van Susteren’s five line headline, she opined in parenthesis that “this vacation casual is unacceptable in the face of this atrocity.”
