Gene Robinson and Former Dodger to be Honored at GW

GWU’s Jackie Robinson Society hosts Jackie Robinson Night this Thursday April 15 to commemorate the anniversary of the late baseball legend’s breakthrough into major league baseball and his impact on and off the field.

Stanford University Professor Arnold Rampersad, Jackie Robinson’s biographer and the author of biographies of Langston Hughes, Ralph Ellison and Arthur Ashe, will deliver the first Ronald Gabriel Memorial Lecture.

Pulitzer prize winning syndicated columnist with the Washington Post Writers Group and WaPo’s former assistant managing editor Eugene Robinson to be honored along with former LA Dodger Maury Wills.

The event is being held in GWU’s Jack Morton Auditorium (805 21st St.
