Former NPR Editor Goes Free in Kiddie Porn Case

David Malakoff, the former NPR science editor that was charged with downloading videos of children being raped on his NPR laptop, will not be serving any jail time for his actions.

According to the Examiner, the videos were discovered after he took his computer to technical support at NPR for repair.

Malakoff walked with a $5,000 fine, 600 hours of community service and a registered sex offender status for the next 25 years. He said he will be haunted forever by the images of the children being raped, “their distant eyes, their blank faces.”
