image-3Well known throughout Washington circles, former Facebook-er Andrew Noyes joined Napster co-founder Sean Parker’s new startup Brigade as VP of Communications earlier this month. Brigade works to make civic engagement easy, effective, and enjoyable, with the hopes that in so doing, political power can be restored back to the people. It recently acquired a controlling stake in Philotic, the company that owns Causes, and thus political advocacy startup Votizen, which Philotic acquired in early 2013.

Noyes, most recently with Uber, was Facebook’s third DC employee, alongside Adam Conner, Brigade’s VP of Politics and Facebook’s first DC employee. Facebook’s first DC office on Connecticut Avenue shared a loft with Matt Mahan, Brigade’s CEO, and James Windon, Brigade’s President, who were Causes executives at the time.

Noyes will remain in San Francisco where Brigade is based and he relocated in 2012. Conner is based in DC.

A prime example of the power of connections in Washington.
