Yesterday, we posted that NBC’s Tom Brokaw was appointed to the Commission on White House Fellowships by President Obama.
In the post, I questioned whether it was a conflict of interest for an active journalist to accept such a role:
I’ve always considered it strange for active journalists to be appointed to positions that align them with government agencies, political parties or politicians. This may be an exception to the case but does anyone else find it “too close for comfort?”
After a surprising number of responses from a diverse group of sources and readers, I turn the question over to you via poll. Please weigh in. Should Brokaw accept the presidential appointment?
