Fictitious 'Washington Spectator'=WaPo?
WaPo’s The Reliable Source has a health dose of realism about “The Room and the Chair,” a new book out by ex-WaPo scribe Lorraine Adams.
In a recent item, the gossip columnists wonder if Adams’s book was based on the Washington Post newsroom.
Chances are higher than high. In the book, a character named Janet Cooke (the reporter who invented a prize-winning story) is named — mysteriously — Janet Cooke. And the dead giveaway if you don’t yet get what’s going on here? The newspaper in her book forces a certain president to resign.
Adams isn’t fessing up – her lawyer won’t let her.
