Dean Baquet Is Not Happy With the Cable News Networks

New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet may have been in London to celebrate the Times’ expanded presence abroad, but his interview with the Financial Times remained focused on domestic issues, specifically, his displeasure with how cable networks handled election coverage this cycle.

Among the list of infractions was CNN’s decision to hire Corey Lewandowski. “I’m sorry, that is outrageous. I cannot fathom that,” he told FT’s John Gapper.

Baquet was harsher with Fox News, saying the network “at its heart is not a journalistic institution.”
