D.C. Magazine Editor and Hubby to Co-Host Katrina Concert

It’s nearly five years later, and D.C. Magazine Editor-in-Chief Karen Sommer Shalett and her husband, Scott Shalett, have rebounded from losing their home in New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina. At the time, they evacuated with their 5-month old, and she was pregnant with their second child. On Thursday night the couple will further put those difficult memories to rest by hosting a recovery concert at Sixth & I Synagogue in downtown Washington featuring several of their favorite New Orleans musicians.
