Editors and reporters,
I am pleased to announce that Georgina Gustin is joining our news staff to cover regulatory issues related to agriculture and food policy. Georgina will be working alongside Phil Brasher on CQ Roll Call’s Executive Briefing on Agriculture & Food, expanding our coverage into the agencies that govern this important industry and affect the related energy and transportation sectors. Georgina, who comes from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has a strong profile for this newly created position. In St. Louis she innovatively created a business agriculture beat focused on industry giants in the region that were core to the paper’s audience, so she understands how to write for a stakeholder market and how to handle increasingly hot and complex topics like biotechnology, food safety and conservation. Before joining the Post-Dispatch in 2004 she was a beat reporter for The Day in New London, Conn. Georgina was a Knight Foundation Science Journalism fellow in 2009 and a Metcalf Institute for Marine Environmental Reporting fellow in 2003. She earned a graduate degree in journalism from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Please join me in welcoming her today.
