CQ Roll Call Promos Keep on Coming

A memo from David Rapp outlines more promotions at CQ Roll Call: Dave Meyers will be coming back to the 7th floor as VP of Content Development. Dave will lead a team that will work across departments in editorial to develop features and functionality that heighten our engagement with readers, and to take on a project management role for new editorial projects. Tom Whitmire will become director of web and online development, reporting to Dave. Tom has been the unsung hero of rollcall.com's growth since the redesign of 2010, but particularly so over the past year. To CQRC Editorial Staff -- I wanted to let you know of some immediate organizational changes that will occur in the wake of John Dineen's move to the 8th floor along with Jessica Cuellar, Megan Sowder-Staley and Michael Stanaland. Dave Meyers will be coming back to the 7th floor as VP of Content Development. Dave will lead a team that will work across departments in editorial to develop features and functionality that heighten our engagement with readers, and to take on a project management role for new editorial projects. His team will also work hand-in-glove with Dineen's product development team to ensure that a strong editorial focus is front and center of every project we undertake. Tom Whitmire will become director of web and online development, reporting to Dave. Tom has been the unsung hero of rollcall.com's growth since the redesign of 2010, but particularly so over the past year. His strategic mindset and technical aptitude have been essential in our ability to conceive, develop and execute new ideas. He's the ultimate collaborator, and this expanded role will make his gifts available to the entire newsroom. Bo Huttinger and John Irons will round out this side of Dave's team. George Codrea will also report to Dave, doing his usual, indispensable job managing editorial operations, including the UDR and other data issues that the rest of us don't understand but can't work without. Sarah Thibodeaux will continue to work with George in fixing and improving data tools for the newsroom. Web producers Jamisha Ford, Jen Rubio, Kaitie Kovach and Aleksandra Robinson will also report to Dave. Other Moves Other people and functions that were under Dineen will move to new reporting structures. The Member Information and Research team under Tim Yoder, Chris White and Amanda Allen will now report to Peter King's Leg Info department under managing editor Pat Joy. Graphic artists Marilyn Gates-Davis and Ryan Kelly will report directly to the CQ Weekly editor. With John Cranford's departure, Steve Gettinger has graciously offered to serve as interim editor while I search for a permanent replacement. I hope to have someone in place there by February. Photographers Doug Graham, Bill Clark and Tom Williams will report to Roll Call Deputy Editor Emily Pierce. That's all for now! -David
