CPAC Candy Coverage Pretty Sweet

Editors wanting to break into alternative video coverage around town need to take note of Politico’s recent TMZ-style candy video from CPAC. This could be what Washington D.C. sorely needs – go to “serious-minded” events and ask the absurd (but ask it as seriously as possible). Think John Oliver from The Daily Show. Think Stuttering John from Howard Stern.

In this instance, Patrick Gavin and Anne Schroeder Mullins go around with a video camera and ask CPAC booth reps serious questions about their candy – everything from the questionably hygienic Jelly Bellies to Dummy lollipops to miniature Earth-shaped chocolate balls.
