Connecticut Teen Receives Prom Flowers from VP Biden

In an age when each spring, news outlets report the local angle of a high school teen who invites a celebrity to his or her prom, one Connecticut girl went a different route.

Seven months ago, Talia Maselli, a senior at Newington High School mailed a handwritten letter to Vice President Joe Biden, inviting him to join her at her senior prom.

“I am inviting you so far in advance because I’m sure many 17-year-old girls send you prom invitations, and I had to beat them to it,” she wrote.
