City Paper Snags Maureen Tkacik

Maureen Tkacik, who’s worked for the the Wall Street Journal, Philadelphia Magazine, and Jezebel (which she helped found) will be moving from New York to Washington to take a new gig with the Washington City Paper.

As a staff writer at the City Paper, she’s planning to write “attention-snagging, icon-smashing features on the culture, characters, and economics of D.C.’s media and intellectual classes.”

According to memo from CP Editor Michael Schaffer, Tkacik will get her own blog on the website, where she’ll “hold forth on the various subjects she’s covering, as well as on her various other obsessions, from gender politics to economic theory to the folkways of D.C.’s
