CBS Says Farewell to Wyatt Andrews

He is retiring after over 30 years with the network.

With a toast at Darlington House, the CBS News bureau bid a fond farewell to Wyatt Andrews. The longtime D.C.-based correspondent has retired after 34 years with the network.

CBS News bureau chief Chris Isham and deputy bureau chief Ward Sloane were on hand to pay tribute to the national correspondent. Politico reports Congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes, national security correspondent David Martin, former Washington bureau chief Frank Sesno and ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl were also in attendance.

“In addition to being a great reporter, Wyatt Andrews is a thoughtful reporter—we could always count on him to bring clarity out of confusion, to explain the inexplicable,” Isham told FishbowlDC.

During his career, Andrews won three Emmys for his coverage of the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the Reagan-Gorbachev summit in Reykjavik, and the D.C.
