Bloomberg News Cuts Will Be a Touch Less Painful Than Expected

We still can't get over the Labor Day timing.

While it appears the Bloomberg News staff cuts are still happening, they will be fewer in number than previously expected, reports New York Post’s Kevin Dugan.

The number of staff now expected to be cut by Labor Day is 80, down from the previously reported 100. The slimmer newsroom isn’t expected to stay that way for long. Bloomberg will continue hiring staff for “fast commentary,” a new New York-based project that will deliver commentary–quickly, we assume–alongside breaking news.
