Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is slated to announce his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination on Thursday, according to Vermont Public Radio.
VPR, who first broke the news Tuesday afternoon, reports that Sanders is expected to release a statement in two days and hold a kickoff event in Vermont later next month.
He will be the second candidate to officially seek the Democratic nomination, as he challenges the lone Democrat as of now, Hillary Clinton.
