Zynga Nabs Omgpop
$200 million deal to acquire company behind runaway mobile game Draw Something
Zynga has acquired game publishers Omgpop for $200 million.
Until recently, Omgpop was best known as a casual gaming destination known for games such as Balloon Splash. That's until recently, when the developer launched Draw Something, which reached a million downloads in just 10 days last month and 35 million times overall in just six weeks. Draw Something, which costs 99 cents in the Apple App store, is an asynchronous, multiplayer game which blends elements of Pictionary and Words with Friends.
