Last Friday morning, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg appeared on NBC’s Today Show for a segment with Matt Lauer to discuss Facebook’s recent changes to its Terms of Service as well as Facebook’s staggering overall growth.
- Regarding the changes to the Terms of Service, Zuckerberg said, “Frankly, we made a mistake in the last version and issued some unclear language. Our intent is that people own their own information. One of the things that makes Facebook really special is it’s a service that people are using to put up information that they want to share with people that often is very personal, private, intimate.”
- Regarding growth, Lauer said that Facebook is adding “5 million users a week.” Facebook’s growth has been accelerating recently – it blew past 175 million users 2 weeks ago and should be crossing 200 million users soon.
- Zuckerberg added that Facebook users are sharing “over 1 billion photos a month.” As we’ve discussed before, Facebook is the largest photo sharing site on the web.
