Zinio and Recorded Books announced a new partnership today. This new partnership will let visitors to public libraries in the US, Canada, Australia and UK access thousands of digital magazines.
Zinio for Libraries will have apps for both OSX and Windows. Features will be similar to Zinio’s current apps, including key word search and interactive elements. The service will be licensed to libraries, who can choose which titles they wish to provide. Library patrons will be able to use the digital magazines with their library card.
“People love going to their public library to read a large selection of magazines, but printed copies can easily get damaged, lost or destroyed,” said Rich Freese, president and CEO, Recorded Books.
It will officially launch later this week at the ALA Conference in New Orleans.
