“Bad” news if you’re a PR pro wanting to do communications for Google or Apple, or a designer seeking same: those are the top two companies young professionals are targeting.
Bad news for all young professionals: the majority of the open jobs are in areas you don’t have skills for. According to the Wall Street Journal, which reported on the survey that analyzed young professionals’ dream workplaces, “the top majors for the class of 2008 were business, health sciences and social sciences and history,” while most of the jobs that Google, Apple, Amazon and Microsoft are seeking to fill are high-tech, computer science jobs.
