WPIX Sees Strong Gains in Morning and Evening Newscasts for 2012

The numbers don’t lie! WPIX enjoyed a successful 2012. In year-to-year figures released by the Tribune-owned company, Channel 11 bested its rivals at WNYW and WCBS in the crowded 4 a.m. competition, while tying WABC in that early broadcast.

Equally as impressive, when the local morning shows switch to the network, WPIX has reason to pump its chest, defeating CBS This Morning.

WPIX was the only station to record gains in every hour of the elongated morning newscasts, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Drilling down in the early morning news, from December 2011 to December 2012, Channel 11 delivered double and triple digit percentage growth in the “advertising-friendly” adults 25 to 54.
