World Wildlife Fund Testing Drone Surveillance to Save Endangered Elephants

What happens when the hunter becomes the hunted? That’s what the World Wildlife Fund is hoping to do in order to save thousands of African elephants from deadly poachers every year.

The animal friendly drone program, Conservation Drones, is hoping to use its $5 grant from Google Global Impacts Award to fight the $7 billion poaching industry in Africa.

Conservation Drones is equipping struggling rangers with small surveillance drones, which can give fast aerial coverage of vast territory that can take park rangers days to traverse.
