Social and casual game developer Wooga has announced its new publishing strategy, which will see the company partner with developers around the world to release free-to-play mobile games.
This news comes along with new details concerning Wooga’s next game, Jelly Splash, which is set to release on iOS next month.
Wooga’s first partnership is with Danish developer Tactile Entertainment, which will release Airheads Jump on mobile. These partnerships will see Wooga support published titles with guidance on monetization strategies and optimizing the user experience. No separate publishing department is being created.
As for Jelly Splash, Wooga’s next game is described as a mix between “arcade thrills” and “puzzle mechanics.” The game is being developed in-house, and will be released on iPhone and iPad on August 15. Jelly Splash will launch in 20 languages, and will come to Android and Facebook shortly after the iOS launch.
Jelly Splash will be available for cross-platform play via Facebook Connect, allowing users to take their progress with them on any platform. According to Wooga, Jelly Splash represents the company’s largest and fastest cross-platform release in company history.
“These announcements highlight Wooga’s positive growth in the last few years,” said Wooga CEO and co-founder Jens Begemann, via a company release. “Our publishing strategy allows us to promote impressive games that would otherwise struggle for attention in the competitive app market, while launching Jelly Splash across so many platforms and in such a short space of time is a great achievement by the whole team at Wooga.”
