As we reported yesterday, Clear Channel’s WKTU had an impressive July PPM, climbing to number two in the overall Arbitron ratings, just below sister station WLTW/Lite FM.
Delving deeper, the news is even better for the Rhythmic AC station. Among the coveted Adults 25 to 54, WKTU was the most popular for the month, and averaged 5.4 million listeners per week.
WKTU says this marks the first time they’ve been number-one, having started this variation of ‘KTU in 1996.
“It has been absolutely incredible to observe ‘KTU reach the top of the ratings mountain in New York City,” says Joe Puglise, president and market manager, Clear Channel New York. “Rob Miller [program director] and his team are to be commended for their extraordinary vision, focus, and execution.”
Furthermore, WKTU’s Paul “Cubby” Bryant and Cindy Vero had the top number one morning drive show in New York among adults 25 to 54.
“I’m so proud of everyone on our team. We are focused on super-serving our audience and it has really paid off,” says Miller. “KTU is New York, we are a mass appeal station that makes you feel good, with personalities who love this city, the music, and keep you plugged into everything that is hot!”
