WinZip has announced a redesign of its iOS app, bringing new functionality to users on iPhone and iPad. The Version 2.0 update features support for more common file types, a refreshed user interface and more in both a free and paid (full) version.

The new WinZip iOS app offers support for a variety of file types, from .doc and .rtf to Numbers spreadsheets and media files like .mp3 and .mov. The app allows users to view all images in a zip file in an enhanced image viewer, and open and save email attachments in a “My Documents” folder locally stored on a user’s iPhone or iPad.

The contents of Zip files can be copied to the clipboard, and support is available for both Zip and RAR files downloaded from webmail portals including Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail.
