Windows 7 Release Candidate Boot Time on an Asus Netbook

I downloaded the Windows 7 Release Candidate (both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions as well as the Windows 7 Server editions) on Friday. The Windows 7 RC 32-bit edition was installed on my Asus Eee PC 1000HA that had been running Windows 7 Beta.

As you can see in the video above, Windows 7 RC booted to the login screen in just under 35 seconds. This is very similar to the Windows 7 Beta boot-to-login-screen time (I mis-spoke in the video by saying it was around 40 seconds).

No surprises so far. Everything seems to be working ok under the RC (WiFi, LCD, audio, etc.).

I’ll have more to say about Windows 7 RC on my netbook over the next few days. And, I’m also still playing with Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix on my Acer Aspire One netbook.
