Will Facebook Debut a Competitor to Twitter’s MoPub at F8?

F82015Logo650Facebook has used its F8 global developer conference to debut several significant products and features in the past. Could a competitor to Twitter’s MoPub mobile ad exchange be on tap this year?

Bloomberg reported that Facebook is developing a mobile ad exchange to take on MoPub, which it may introduce at F8 in March, according to “people with knowledge of the matter.”

Facebook told Bloomberg the company would not comment on rumors or speculation.

Bloomberg pointed out the infrastructure that is already in place for the potential launch of a MoPub competitor, including Facebook Audience Network, introduced at last year’s F8, which allows advertisers to apply the social network’s targeting capabilities to ads on third-party mobile applications, as well as the measurement capabilities of its Atlas ad platform.
