Facebook is holding a press event at its headquarters next Thursday, April 7, and the invitation’s design suggests that the announcement could involve energy efficiencies at the company.
The timing of such an announcement makes sense given that Greenpeace has asked Facebook to pledge by April 22, Earth Day, to switch from coal to renewable energy for powering data centers.
Facebook has one data center running in Prineville, Oregon and another is under construction in Rutherford County, North Carolina.
