ListenFirst is examining which Team USA Olympic athletes are generating the most social chatter on a week-by-week basis exclusively for Adweek. Earlier today, we looked at ListenFirst's data from Aug. 1 to Aug. 7 on which 10 players were buzziest across Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Wikipedia and YouTube.
Sussing out the top three posts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter—per ListenFirst's stats—makes one thing incredibly obvious: U.S. women's soccer player Alex Morgan is as good on social media as she is on the pitch. She's getting hundreds of thousands of likes and shares every day.
Morgan had seven of the top nine posts/tweets from Team USA members for all sports on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Check them out:
Published three days ago, this post has garnered a couple hundred thousand likes (current tally can be seen at the bottom of the post).
Here she is again, and we can report that Morgan is drawing scores of likes with a social media classic (#aplaneridephoto).
Morgan is the queen of Facebook, per ListenFirst. She has all three of the top-performing posts on the channel. Interestingly, the trio of social triumphs are all repurposed efforts that are on Twitter and Instagram as well. So, she's creating cross-channel engagement, while garnering tens of thousands of likes.
Here's another cross-channel example from Ms. Morgan.

Lastly, the soccer star shows that she's built up such loyal following on Twitter that even a quick text-based update gets her fans' attention.
