At the Online News Association’s annual conference (which we’re not attending, but we’re following the hot hot action with the #ONA09 hashtag on Twitter), Nieman Lab checked out the job fair. The “busiest and most striking tables”?

AOL and Yahoo.

AOL, despite having already hired 500 full-time writers for its niche sites (at Weblogs Inc, which the company purchased in 2005, and in its MediaGlow unit) is apparently still looking. (That 500 number? Is in addition to the 1500 freelancers it uses) (Meanwhile, AOL’s non-content and non-advertising units may be set to be trimmed—Silicon Alley Insider hypothesizes
