Whither the CSM DC Bureau?

Buried in the Post’s big story today on the cash crunch facing the Christian Science church is news that the Christian Science Monitor’s Washington bureau will be forced to relocate following the sale of the church building that currently houses it.

davidcookcsm.jpgThe paper is facing major cutbacks as it heads up to a Church-imposed 2009 deadline that it must break even. No word on how any of these changes will affect staffing at the paper in D.C., where the bureau is led by the respected Senior Editor & Washington Bureau Chief David Cook and holds about half-a-dozen reporters, editorial writers, and a photographer.

> An emailer adds: “They lost their best with Liz Marlantes to ABC and super stringer Anne Scott Tyson to the Post and Faye Bowers left in the last couple years.”
