Google: Actually, We Count Only 16,000 Apps In Android Market

AndroLib’s explanation to TechCrunch regarding the count difference seems reasonable. But, my take is 16,000+ apps is a good healthy number given that Google seemed to take forever to launch their app store (Android Market) after launching the first Android phone (the G1), completely ignoring the need to have a way to provide desktop users and easy way to search for Android apps, and doing little to promote Android apps.
