Facebook Adds Instant Personalization, Public Search Preview To Security Settings
Continuing its efforts to educate its users about its privacy and security settings, some users who click on privacy settings in the pull-down menu that appears in the top-right-hand corner of every Facebook page are seeing another page labeled “where to find,” which highlights changes to the social network’s security settings.
Continuing its efforts to educate its users about its privacy and security settings, some users who click on privacy settings in the pull-down menu that appears in the top-right-hand corner of every Facebook page are seeing another page labeled “where to find,” which highlights changes to the social network’s security settings.
Two new sections were highlighted: instant personalization, and public search.
Instant personalization explains how users can customize whether open graph applications being used by their friends are allowed to post to their news feeds.
And the public search section allows users to preview what their timeline profiles look like to anyone performing a public search, enabling them to choose whether their timelines should be public or private, but apparently eliminating the option of allowing friends of friends to see the results.
