Popular online video editing solution WeVideo today announced the release of a brand new “Social Video Engagement” solution that aims to help brands harness the creativity of their customers and proliferate consumer generated content. The WeVideo Social Video Engagement solution actually allows marketers to embed a video editor on their website and invite consumers to create their own videos using media provided by the brand.
User generated content is a great (not to mention inexpensive) way to let your customers spread the word about your business, and the new WeVideo solution is enabling brands to really take advantage of user generated content (UGC) as a vehicle for spreading the word about their product or name. Through WeVideo Social Engagement, brands can invite consumers to create highlight reels, short films, entertaining spots, testimonials, movie trailers and more.
WeVideo’s Social Video Engagement solution was recently used by K-1, the world’s premiere kickboxing promoters, in support of the K-1 Rising 2012 Contest in LA on September 8. Fans were invited to enter an online contest by creating their own clips of previous kickboxing fights. Fan videos can be viewed on YouTube.
WeVideo Social Video Engagement was also behind the Marvel Avengers Remix campaign earlier this year, which resulted in more than 1,800 fan-made trailers, including the one below. Imagine that–1,800 fan-made trailers being shared all over the web!
Jostein Svendsen, CEO of WeVideo, says, “WeVideo’s Social Video Engagement solution is a wonderful way to bring audiences together with consumer products, entertainment properties and media brands.”
