About 150 mobile enthusiasts stuffed themselves into a Microsoft conference room on Monday night at the Mobile Monday meeting to discuss mobile analytics, according to WebWare. The site outlined three reasons why mobile analytics—the analysis of cell phone user data—can help drive business decisions:
– There’s greater mobile Web use these days;
– Banner ads, link ads, and revenue sharing with search engines are turning cell phones into an ad-supported revenue stream for content providers;
– Rising competition in the industry means that content providers need to stay ahead of what platforms and handsets become more popular over time.
