Web, Mobile and Social Connectivity Across the Americas

More than half of the population throughout the Americas is connected to the Internet, but adoption varies from country to country and highlights the digital divide between rich and poor.

Usually when people develop statistics about “America,” they really mean the U.S. However, a study from WeAreSocial takes a look at digital and social statistics across the Americas.

According to the study, more than 60 percent of the population is connected to the Internet and using a mobile device. In fact, there seems to be a strong connection between Internet access and mobile devices. Still, while there are lots of people connecting to the Internet via mobile, less than half of the region is active on social media.

The data also continue to point to a clear connection between social and mobile.
