WattPad Now Has 1 Million Registered Users

The world’s largest online book community has just set a new milestone. WattPad announced Monday that it had registered 1,000,000 readers and writers since it launched 5 years ago.

WattPad started in the basement of Allen Lau, CEO of WattPad, back in 2006. Since that day it has grown from 2 employees and a handful of users to 15 employees, several houseplants (they’re the IT department), and over 1 million users.

It’s grown from just a basic site and a few basic apps to  having apps on all major mobile platform and having readers on over 600 smartphone networks in over 160 countries.
