WaPo's Erik Wemple Snags 2014 Mirror Award

This afternoon in New York City, Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications hosted the eighth annual 2014 Mirror Awards competition, honoring excellence in reporting on the media industry. “CBS This Morning” co-host and O editor at large Gayle King emceed the event, held at Cipriani 42nd Street.

The afternoon recognized the work of several Washingtonians including The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple for Politico’s Mike Allen, native advertising pioneer in the “Best Single Article – Digital Media” category.

Also recognized, Michael Meyer of the Columbia Journalism Review for False fronts, Unfinished business, and News havens in the “Best Commentary – Traditional/Legacy Media” category and CQ Researcher’s Frank Greve for “Combat Journalism” with the John M.
