Hollywood on the Potomac talked with WaPo insiders yesterday “while they were still in their shock space” over news that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos bought the paper from the Graham family.
PostPartisan’s Jonathan Capehart was all set to go on the air at MSNBC, where he’s a contributor, when he learned about the surprise announcement. So he couldn’t dial into the 4:30 p.m. call. “I read the email from Katharine Weymouth around 4:45 under the NBC marquee on 49th Street and screamed, ‘WHAT?!'”
