WaPo Earnings Plummet in Fourth Quarter

The hits keep on coming for WaPo.

For the October to December period The Washington Post Co.’s net income is down 22 percent from the year before, according to the AP. Earnings across all of the company’s divisions, excluding its cable TV channels, fell.

The bad news comes in addition to problems that Kaplan, the company’s for-profit higher education service, is facing. Kaplan is under investigation for allegedly recruiting students who are unlikely to succeed after graduating.
