W Magazine Moves To Condé Nast, Will Lose Patrick McCarthy At Year's End

W magazine is moving from Fairchild Fashion Group to be under the supervision of Condé Nast editorial director Tom Wallace.

Patrick McCarthy will stay on as chairman of the Fairchild Fashion Group through the end of the year, after which Wallace will name an editor in chief for the magazine.

The senior editorial staff formerly shared by W and WWD will now work solely with WWD.

Condé Nast CEO and president Charles H. Townsend said the changes will allow Fairchild Fashion Group to focus on their “core” business-to-business publications and related businesses, such as trade shows.
