Vodafone UK has signed on to resell Yodlee’s mobile banking solution, giving customers of participating banks easy, secure access to multiple accounts through a WAP browser and text messaging.
Two major UK banks (they haven’t said which ones) have already agreed to offer the Vodafone/Yodlee Mobile Banking services, which will be individually branded for each bank. Both expect to go live by year-end.
Some of the more interesting features for consumers include the ability to monitor accounts, pay bills and transfer funds from a mobile device; receive fraud monitoring alerts, bill due reminders and account threshold notifications and access from any mobile device that supports WAP2, XHTML or i-Mode. Plus, the text-messaging service works with all mobile phones currently on the market.
