Virginia Libraries Form eBook Consortium
Eleven public libraries in the commonwealth of Virginia have joined together to share the cost of an eBook library collection. The Blue Ridge Consortium was developed by the Culpeper Regional Library and the Handley Regional Library, and it serves a sizable percentage of the population of Virgina. Other members include the Orange County Public Library, the Powhatan County Public Library, and others.
The libraries came together to spread the maintenance cost and so they could share the cost of purchasing obscure titles.
