'Victory of Chicago Tribune Culture over LAT Culture'

On Warren Olney’s Which Way L.A. this evening, Kevin Roderick and Sarah Ellison, the WSJ reporter who broke the Dean Baquet story, both declared Baquet’s firing a victory for “Tribune culture over LAT culture.”

Olney asked Ellison if that was ironic, given that new publisher David Hiller has demanded more local coverage. But he forgot one important thing. Local coverage is Tribune culture. Read the the Chicago Tribune, and you’ll find out what’s going on in Chicago.
